Nvidia Optimus
You surely already know by Graphic Card / VGA Nvidia Optimus. Yes VGA has the ability to shutdown when the VGA Nvidia is not necessary and use the integrated VGA-me-such as Intel are not hungry for battery power. Well now there is a team that developed the nVidia driver for Ubuntu namely Optimus Bumblebee Project. With this driver be able to automatic swich VGA based on the load of the GPU. To install follow these steps:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mj-casalogic/bumblebee
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-graphics-drivers virtualgl ibjpeg-turbo libjpeg-turbo32 nvidia-settings
